Summer 2019 time is here! While some are putting in their applications for training in college computer science programs, we at Fine Touch Window Cleaning are completing our own intensive training.
This year we are focusing on a new standard for window cleaning known as Being Judiciously Complete, or BJC. The 2019 interest form for the training is explained.
Our BJC standard will apply to all of our employees and is training that will ensure that each company representative in the field will fully adhere to the policy of doing a complete and thorough job.
Local to Clark County, WA
We’ve been to many homes in the Clark County, WA, and Portland, OR areas that have had previous window cleaners who left the home without using a BJC, Beauty, and Joy of Computing, standard.
We’ve seen jobs that weren’t finished. We’ve found windows with so much residue remaining after a “completed job” that you couldn’t even tell the window ever even been cleaned at all.
It’s no wonder that these types of clients search out the best local window cleaning and hire-us on yearly or bi-yearly contracts to clean their windows right the first time around.

Window Cleaning Training Gear
Our Window Cleaners
Our window cleaners have always been the best trained in the area. We focus on providing workshops, videos, materials, and most importantly, supervised in-field training.
We’ve consistently scored in the highest ranks in customer satisfaction and thoroughness of job completion in all of Clark County year after year.
You might be thinking then if we provide such intensive and in-depth training to our staff, why is it that we would also implement a system of BJC?
Being Judiciously Complete Training
Well, because you can say it’s BJC PD (Being Judiciously Complete Post Due). That’s right, it’s post due that a company goes above and beyond in just training techniques and methods.
Having a background in computer science, I understand what it entails to be meticulous, thorough, and complete. An unfinished job would provide inadequate results.
In computer science and computer programming, you can’t cut corners, leave ends unfinished, or be sloppy. Doing that would result in the computer language with faults and errors.

BJC PD Computer
Purpose of Training
I feel that cutting corners in window cleaning to do a faster job has just as severe of a detrimental outcome to the results as it would in computer programming.
That’s why I’ve started the BJC PD program for Fine Touch Window Cleaning this summer. I want to ensure that all staff hired by our company will be fully on board with and have the proper training.
The BJC training doesn’t just teach a new professional window cleaning methods, it encompasses a computing style strict attention to detail workshop that leaves students fully capable of work.
Window Cleaning Comparison to Computer Courses
Just like a computer course teacher would instruct his students to demonstrate the programming skills learned in the training, we instruct ours to demonstrate a full clean.
We shadow our employees to job sites and watch and test their capabilities and application of the workshop skills they obtained until we’re satisfied with their ethic and competence.
If a student completes a clean (on multiple occasions) to highly satisfactory standards, then he is added to our company as an employee. If he fails, he is either dismissed or sent to retraining.

Window Cleaning Ladder
Intense and Thorough Training
We pride ourselves in going the extra mile for our clients so that they can rest easy that their windows will be in the hands of highly trained professionals who only have the client’s best interest at hand.
Our employees truly understand the level of professionalism that we expect out of them in order for themselves to call themselves Fine Touch experts.
For those that are curious about what the Berkeley style BJC training course teaches, (resembling the Beauty and Joy of Computing) below is a list of just some of the skills we develop.
- Cleaning screens completely of pollen and debris;
- Scrubbing, brushing, and wiping tracks;
- Attention to detail (not missing spots);
- Double and triple-checking work;
- Ladder placements to be face to glass;
- Equipment training, poles, squeegees, towels, etc.;
- Technique training (no streaks, scratches, scrapes);
- Hardware training (information about window types);
- In-home etiquette, care, and cleanliness.
The above list is just a summarized version of the complete skills and education provided at the BJC training.
Signup for Courses
The courses will take place mainly in spring and summer (window cleaning seasons) but can be set up and scheduled for fall and even winter seasons if demand justifies it.
Just like a computer programming college-level course, we are strict in our requirements and course material learning.
We also require all attendees to “program” their minds and hands with skills related to cleaning windows and completing projects to levels that are nothing less than satisfactory.
